Mohican 100k 2024 Recap, By Martin R.
Goal for this race was to beat last year’s time of 9 hours and 9 minutes. My goal time I set for myself was 8 hours. I put in way more time on the bike over the winter with minimal days on the trainer. I actually set up a workout plan through Garmin which helped me stay on track leading up to the race. Last year I realized I lost a lot of time on aid stations, so this year I recruited the wife as support crew.

Another strategy I put in place this year was to really try and push on the road sections and just try and stay smooth on the single track. Race day was another wet one with it raining the previous night. Course was in pretty good shape though except the usual spots on the horse trails. I surpassed all of my goals for this years race and felt as though I kept strong with my strategies. Finished with a time of 7 hours and 30 minutes. Time to get faster for next year!
A note from Rae: Martin has also been killing it in the NOMBS series up here in the northern part of the state. Come play bikes with us at Hampton Hills in August!
